Ahsan Manzil

Where the Ahsan Manzil currently stands on the place it was previously known as Kumortuli Islampur. It located in the southern of Dhaka city. By the mid-eighteenth century landlord in Jalalpur Parganas Sheikh Enayetullah was built "Rangmahal as" an
entertainment building. Hence He died a few days later, his son Sheikh Enayetullah Matiullaha Sold Entertainment luxurious building to the French merchants. Then the French built their trading there.

The French in this area (There are now part of Ahsan Manzil) north-west Corner "lyusajalla", a reservoir built. There were pools of relatively round. After a few days In 1830 Khwaja Alimullaha was bought the building from the French merchants and renovated for the purpose of residence. Nawab Khwaja Abdul Ghani son of Alimullahara Re-construction of the palace in 1859, and the palace of his own son Khawaja Ahsanullah's name was called, "Ahsan Manzil ". Then, on April 7, 1888, several part of the curtain Ahsan Manzil broke down a strong storm, but overall this is a devastating cyclone caused extensive damage of Ahsan Manzil. Later Ahsan Manzil was rebuilt and now a high dome can be seen that such a dome was added. At that time, like Ahsan Manzil was not at such a high-rise building in Dhaka. So Ahsan Manzil was the magnificent dome of the people's attention from far. That is part of a large domed building called the Palace. It was the first variety theater;there is another side of the indoor corridors, which was known as "Xanana". The building is divided into two balanced dome. Round eight-angle dome lifted high above the middle of the room. The first floor of the eastern had salon, playing card room, library and three guest rooms
and casino of the west, and a number of Hindustani Residential rooms. There is a dining hall on the ground floor on the eastern and the court, billiards room and treasury on the parts of western. The Nawab of Dhaka spent all of the money on welfare and various purposes and became indebted to the British government and the local banker. As a result of mismanagement fallen landlords was forced to hand it over “Wards of the Court” in 1907 by Nawab Salimullaha. In 1915, after the death of Nawab Salimullaha, his own son Habibullah succeeded his father and losing one after other Paragana landlords in Debt. Moreover, other son goes separately with their property. As a result of disputes among themselves  gradually building to be abandoned. Then in 1958, Nawab Habibullah died his son Khwaja Hasan Askari professed became the nawab. At present government of bangladesh made this palace a museum.
